Post Course Video Submission
Description
Finished your instructor course but have one performance left to complete? You can do it remotely, in your own time, through our video-evidence pathway. $150 per submission — This is a last resort if you couldn't complete your requirements for some reason on the course. Note the video evidence is scrutinised far more heavily because we can analyse it. It will be easier to do on course and we're genuinely here to help you get across the line.
What this is
Sometimes a depth or performance requirement doesn't quite get finished or verified during a course — the conditions weren't right, time ran out, or the footage on the day wasn't clear enough. That's completely normal, and it doesn't mean starting over. This pathway lets you complete that outstanding requirement by sending us one video of your dive, reviewed against the standard for your certification level.
We're a small team, and we care about seeing you succeed. Most of what follows is just about giving your footage the best possible chance of passing first time.
When to use it
Use this when a required performance wasn't completed or verified during your course, and we've confirmed the video-evidence pathway is available for your certification. Not sure whether your requirement qualifies? Just ask us first — the fee is per submission, so we'd always rather check with you before you pay than have you spend it on something that isn't eligible.
The requirements (please read these carefully)
Meeting all of these the first time is the single best way to pass on your first go, so it's worth a proper read:
- Submitted within 6 months of your instructor course. This one is firm — submissions after six months can't be accepted, and you'd need to complete the requirement in person instead.
- One continuous, unedited take. No cuts, splices, speed changes, or overlays. Edited footage can't be verified, so it can't be accepted.
- Your dive computer or depth gauge clearly visible and readable, showing the depth reached for your level.
- The full dive, start to finish — Breathe up, duck dive, descent, the turn at depth, ascent, and a clean surface protocol (recovery breathing and a correct OK signal).
- Your safety diver or buddy in frame wherever the standard calls for it.
- Good light and visibility throughout, so we can clearly see what's happening.
Technical bits
- 1080p or better, steady and framed so the key moments are never blocked.
- Send the original, unmodified file, and hold on to your copy until your result is confirmed.
- A visible date/timestamp helps if you can manage it.
- We'll send you simple upload instructions as soon as you've purchased — no need to send anything before then.
What to expect from us
- This covers a full, careful review of one submission.
- Your payment covers the review itself, not an automatic pass — your certification is confirmed once the evidence meets the standard. But if it's close, we'll always tell you exactly what we're seeing.
- If something isn't quite there, we'll come back to you with a clear, friendly explanation of what to adjust, rather than just a no. A fresh submission ($150) is needed for another review, but you'll know precisely what to fix. In our experience it almost always comes down to one of two things — footage that's been edited, or a gauge that's hard to read — so a quick check of both before you send saves most people a second round.
Before you buy
Confirm with us that your requirement is eligible, check your footage against the list above, and you'll give yourself the best possible shot at passing first time. We want you to.
