React Right — First Aid, CPR & AED Certification

React Right is SSI's emergency response course — First Aid, CPR, AED use, and the principles behind staying calm when someone else can't. One day. Internationally recognised. Required for SSI instructor pathway.

Who this is for

• Freediving instructor candidates (this is a prerequisite)
• Anyone working with water (lifeguards, sailing instructors, parents)
• Workplace First Aid requirements (NZ workplaces with employees)
• Anyone who wants to know what to do in the first 5 minutes

What we cover

• Scene assessment and primary survey
• Adult, child, and infant CPR
• AED (automated external defibrillator) use
• Choking response
• Bleeding, shock, and trauma management
• Burns and environmental injuries
• Recovery position and ongoing care
• Calling for help — what to say, when

What's included

• One full day of practical training at the Freedive Studio, Paihia
• SSI React Right digital materials (yours to keep, lifetime)
• Internationally recognised SSI digital certification on completion (valid 2 years)
• All practice manikins and AED training units

Prerequisites

None. Suitable from age 16 (younger by arrangement).

A $100 non-refundable deposit secures your spot — this covers your SSI digital learning kit and certification, which is issued to you the moment you register. The full amount option ($259) covers everything including the day's training. The remaining balance is due on the day. Full refund policy here.

Renewal

Certification valid 2 years. We run the React Right Refresher every quarter for renewals.

Combine with

Add the Emergency Oxygen Provider course (1 day) to complete the full SSI emergency response pathway needed for instructor candidacy.
